The Belfry Hotel & Resort is one of the UK’s best-known leisure destinations, with multiple buildings, vehicle access points, and high expectations around guest experience, safety, and operational continuity.
The hospitality security challenge
After experiencing ongoing technical issues with their previous security provider, the resort asked MES Systems to take over the maintenance of their existing CCTV/VSS and intruder alarm systems.
Once reliability and performance had been restored, The Belfry asked us to design and implement a broader security upgrade to help protect the wider site, improve monitoring, and support long-term operations across the resort and its associated buildings.

The Solution: CCTV takeover, HikCentral, ANPR and gates
MES Systems first took over the service and maintenance of all existing CCTV and intruder alarm systems across the site. Once those systems were addressed, we expanded the solution to deliver seamless, site-wide security coverage.
We installed additional cameras, deployed a HikCentral VMS video management system for the security team, including a software-based video wall and ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) to control and monitor vehicle access across the site.
In addition, we installed a new automated gate, replaced an existing road barrier and manual gates, and fully protected the new leisure facility with integrated CCTV surveillance.

The Result
The Belfry now benefits from a more robust and fully integrated security setup across the resort, giving complete peace of mind. With reliable CCTV and intruder alarm coverage, improved monitoring tools for the security team, and better control of vehicle access, the site is better protected for guests, staff, and operations.
The result is a long-term security solution that combines maintained systems, upgraded surveillance, and stronger perimeter protection across a high-profile hospitality environment.
