Upgraded security successfully addressed fish theft concerns and improved security by implementing a wireless CCTV system, providing comprehensive site monitoring and access control for a 120-acre leisure fishing complex, ensuring safety and peace of mind for visitors.
Makins is a 120 acre leisure fishing complex comprising of 18 lakes, a on-site shop and luxury holiday lodges. They caters for both pleasurers and match anglers alike. While catching fish is an important part of any fishing trip, makins recognise that the modern day angler wants more than just an arm aching spell of action. They have peaceful surroundings, well-built and spaced pegs, and friendly staff to approach with any queries you may have. They gladly supply all these added factors and aim to give their visitors the complete package. Anglers travel from as far as Newcastle and Exeter to visit the well maintained complex.
The site was experiencing a problem with fish theft, unauthorised access and overall visibility of the large complex, so they came to us looking for a solution to monitor the lakes, control access in/out of the site and provide a safe and secure environment for all to enjoy.
"As a 120-acre leisure fishing complex, we cater to anglers from all over. However, we were facing challenges with fish theft and unauthorized access. MES System stepped in and designed a wireless CCTV system featuring 23 strategically placed cameras. These cameras, including smart tracking Pan, Tilt & Zoom cameras, ANPR cameras, and vari-focal bullet cameras, have become a crucial site management tool.
The impact has been significant. Our staff can now monitor all areas in real-time, ensuring the safety and security of our visitors. Fish theft concerns are a thing of the past, providing both our staff and guests with peace of mind.
We are immensely grateful to MES System for their expertise and dedication. They have transformed Makins Fishery into a secure and enjoyable fishing destination. We highly recommend MES System to any business seeking top-notch security solutions. Thank you for helping us provide the complete package to our visitors."

–We designed a VSS (CCTV) system which comprised of building a wireless network infrastructure utilising market leading technology to enable us to position 23 cameras around the vast area. A variety of cameras were utilised which included several smart tracking Pan, Tilt & Zoom cameras, ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) cameras and automatic vari-focal bullet cameras.
They now have a system which is used as a site management tool as all the cameras are monitored by the reception team and senior staff also have remote access via their smartphones. The sites fish theft problem has now been eradicated and both staff and visitors now have peace of mind in the knowledge that they are always protected.
