There are several reasons to make sure your alarm system is maintained and serviced regularly. The reasons can range from the more apparent, such as protecting your business premises; others are less obvious, such as voiding your insurance. An alarm system can work as a great deterrent, but if someone does break in to your business property, you need to have the correct processes and equipment in place. A lot of businesses get the alarm systems installed and then neglect them. What happens if something does go wrong? Technology has made our lives better, but it isn’t infallible. The components within the system will degrade over time, and finding the fault early, will save money.
Access Control
Limiting access to your property is a great step to preventing criminal activity, this can also be extended to Gates and Barriers. These systems need to be serviced to make sure they are working correctly; otherwise, unauthorised personnel could gain access to your premises.
Commercial CCTV
CCTV is one of the best deterrents of criminal activity. The CCTV can be remotely monitored in house or by an outsourced monitoring company. The issues arise if a camera malfunctions, and stops transmitting a feed. If someone was to break into your business property and the camera wasn’t working. It makes it harder to catch them, and your insurance may not pay out.
Intruder Alarms
Silent alarms and loud alarms can notify you or your monitoring company to a potential break in. Alarms can be triggered in different ways, depending on the equipment. Door sensors and motion detection are common forms of intruder alarms. If they fail, then they won’t notify you, making them redundant.
