Embarking on an adventure that tests your limits and pushes your boundaries is a powerful experience. The National Three Peaks Challenge is one such journey, and MES Systems took on this incredible endeavour with a mission: to raise funds for Myton Hospices. In this blog post, we'll share the inspiring story of MES Systems conquering the Three Peaks Challenge and the impact they've made in support of Myton Hospices.
The National Three Peaks Challenge involves summiting the highest peaks in Scotland, England, and Wales - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon - within a span of 24 hours. This is a gruelling test of both physical and mental strength, requiring participants to cover 37 kilometres and ascend a staggering 10,052 feet, all in the pursuit of a great cause.
MES Systems decided to embrace this incredible journey, committing not only to conquering the peaks but also to making a substantial impact through fundraising for Myton Hospices.
Myton Hospices is a local charity renowned for its dedication to providing essential services to individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses. Their compassionate care and support during challenging times are invaluable to those in need.
The decision to support Myton Hospices was deeply personal for MES Systems. Their story is closely linked to a former colleague who sadly passed away two years ago, leaving behind three bereaved children. At that time, MES Systems rallied together and managed to raise an impressive £16,000 to support them.
Recently, MES Systems discovered the essential role that Myton Hospices plays in providing counselling sessions for bereaved children who find themselves in this heart breaking situation. This revelation became the catalyst for their commitment to not only raise funds but also raise awareness about these crucial services that Myton Hospices offers.
Richard says “I feel like we underestimated this challenge, both physically and emotionally as it was much harder than we thought it would be. We met some great people during the challenge and heard some truly inspiring stories from other participants and the mountain leaders who accompanied us. These stories gave us the motivation we needed to see us through until the end.”
MES Systems recognised that their challenge wasn't just about conquering mountains; it was about making a difference in the lives of others. With the funds raised, they aim to support Myton Hospices and their vital work in offering comfort and support during challenging times, especially for bereaved children who require counselling sessions.
The journey of MES Systems in conquering the Three Peaks Challenge is an inspiring one. Their commitment to making a lasting impact is a testament to the power of compassion and the desire to give back to the community. Thanks to your support our Three Peaks Challenge has raised £11,000 for Myton Hospices!
You too, can be a part of this impactful journey by contributing to Myton Hospices. With just £162, you can fund 10 children's bereavement counselling sessions. £27,600 can fund a children's counsellor for an entire year, providing crucial guidance and support to young individuals facing unimaginable challenges.
Join MES Systems and Myton Hospices in making a difference. Every contribution counts, and together, we can create a brighter future for those in need.
